What is the Taxman Task Monitor extension?
Taxman Task Monitor is a Chrome extension that works with the Taxman dashboard on taxhindi.com. It helps tax consultants and taxpayers stay on top of GST compliance without logging into the portal every day.
- Notices & orders — see department notices and orders as they arrive, linked to the right GSTIN.

- GST portal helper — on gst.gov.in, the extension can capture data you open to keep the dashboard in sync.
Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store (or via your dashboard), pin it, sign in once, and your alerts appear in the Notices and Alerts pages.
Gmail access for GST notice tracking
Most GST notices and orders are emailed by the department from donotreply@gst.gov.in. The extension can read those emails through the official Gmail API so taxpayers and consultants get an alert immediately — without manually checking the inbox.
Exactly what the extension reads (and does not)
- Scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly— read-only. The extension never sends, deletes, drafts, or modifies your email. - Filter: only messages matching
from:donotreply@gst.gov.in(GST notice / order mail). It does not read the rest of your inbox. - When: only after you click Fetch Emails in the extension and approve Google’s consent screen. An optional daily refresh uses the same limited filter.
- Purpose: classify notice/order emails, match them to GSTINs, and show alerts and notice history in your Taxman dashboard.
- Your control: revoke access anytime from your Google Account → Security → Third-party access, or clear extension storage.

You can use the whole dashboard without connecting Gmail — email fetch is optional and only runs when you enable it.
How to get started
Create an account or sign in on the Taxman dashboard.
Add taxpayers (GSTIN + portal login) you want to monitor.
Install the Chrome extension and pin it to your toolbar.
Optional: open Alerts → Fetch Emails and approve Gmail once to pull GST notices.
